Our website is the best place to browse items prior to the sale. Create an account to save searches, manage your watch list, and more. Inspection reports for selective items are posted before each auction for you to download so you know exactly what you are bidding on. If you can make it to the site, we open our facility before the sale for you to come view the items for yourself.

Auction Registration

Registering for the auction is easy. After creating a user account, look at our list of upcoming auctions, choose the auction you are interested in and click “Register Now.” Online bidders within the U.S. are required to have a valid credit card prior to being approved to bid. International bidders are required to wire a deposit prior to bidder approval.

During the Auction

Now the fun begins! Our online bidding system provides online streaming so our online bidders experience the auction as though they are right in the ring. As on-site bidders view our multiple screens in the auction gallery so you will be viewing the same thing, plus you will have access to photos and inspection reports from the comfort of your home or office…or maybe on a tablet at a job site. Bid from anywhere!


Bidding online allows you to bid from the comfort of your office or home, or from anywhere in the world that you have access to a computer. You can either leave your bid now or bid live in real time on auction day.

In Person

Bidding in person at Simplex Solutions auction is easy. All you need to do is register, bid, pay, and pick up the items. This is all handled at the Auction Site at 8900 Bailey Rd. in Mancelona, MI 49659.

Absentee Proxy Bidding

If you cannot attend the auction and would like Simplex Solutions to bid on your behalf, you can place an absentee proxy bid with our experienced auctioneers. Just fill out the Absentee Proxy Bid Form and provide a 25 percent deposit (by credit card, certified funds or cash) at least one hour before the item is sold.

About the auction process


The registration process at the auction site is very easy. A Simplex Solutions team member will take your information and go over any questions you have about our Terms of Sale. A government issued ID is required (such as DL or Passport) along with a $100 refundable deposit by credit card or certified funds for first time bidders the deposit may be waved at the team leaders discretion. A $1,000 refundable deposit is required for all international buyers. You will then receive your bidder number and will be ready to bid. If you do not win any lots, and paid a deposit your deposit will be refunded at the auctions conclusion.


We highly recommend inspecting all lots prior to bidding. All items are sold “as-is” with no guarantees or warranties, expressed or implied. We do our best to give complete and accurate information, but your inspection is the only way to know for sure what you are buying. All items are at the Auction site unless otherwise noted. Please feel free to view these items during normal business hours.  You can also have one of Simplex Solutions team members answer any of your questions about the lots.


Auctions are fast paced and sometimes difficult to follow. We broadcast our auction using a visual  “ring men” next to the auction block that will help you with the bidding process. The screens show what item you are bidding on along with a description of the item and any notes about the lot.  This helps clear any confusion about what your bidding on and where the bid is at.  Remember that Simplex Solutions has a some buyers charges so make sure to account for them while you are bidding.


There is a 18% Internet buyer’s premium with a Live buyer’s Premium of 15%. Sales tax applies for this auction if you are a buyer from Michigan. If you are exempt from paying sales tax, you must fax a completed sales tax exemption form to our office attention Brittany: Fax no. (231) 695-5905 or email to brittany@simplex-solutions.net

Email invoices will be sent after the auction has been reconciled. Your credit card on file will be charged the next business day at 5pm. If you want to use a different credit card or alternative form of payment you must contact the auction house on the next business day by 2pm. If no contact is made the assumption will be made that you would like to use the credit card on file and the appropriate charges will be billed at the specified time.

To obtain the 3% cash discount, buyers must contact the auction house the next business day by 2pm to inform that a payment will be made with cash or certified funds. Acceptable payments that are eligible for the cash discount are Certified Checks, Money orders, wire transfers, and of course cash. Company checks will be accepted with a bank letter of credit at our discretion. Please call the auction house with any questions regarding payment. (231) 660-1050


All items must be removed within five business days, unless otherwise noted or special provisions have been made. Storage costs are $10 per day per item which is responsibility of the buyer. Please pickup your items during normal business hours.  We have loading ramps and forklifts to assist you with loading your items.
